Introducing Dockbit: Turn your deployments into repeatable workflows
We’re thrilled to announce that today we are opening Dockbit for public sign-ups. With Dockbit, you can connect dozens of services together and kick off the deployment with a single Slack command.
After nearly 3 months in private beta, we’ve learned a lot, added a bunch of new features and improved overall usability of our product. As we mentioned in our initial announcement post, we’ve spent years helping companies ship software better. Unfortunately, we were always bumping into the same problems, again and again, and that is what we want to solve.

With the rise of cloud services and number of 3rd-party services and integrations we use in our deployment pipelines today, it got so ridiculously complicated to manage everything. All the tools are spread around and there is no single place to see a company’s entire deployment pipeline, with everything that’s involved. We believe our Pipeline Editor, with the support of a variety of integrations, will definitely increase visibility and bring these tools together.
Still, a lot of teams rely only on certain people that are able to deploy, with other team members afraid to hit the big red button. Deployments are usually run from one person’s terminal, and nobody in the team sees what’s happening, which eventually causes features to take more time to ship. It increases the feedback cycle, and hence time to value for our customers. We believe our Slack deployment bot and Deploy button will enable anybody in your team to deploy safely and speedily.
Many deployment pipelines are “monoliths”, built as huge blocks of glued-together code. When something breaks or takes more time, it’s difficult to find the real cause. We believe breaking these pipelines into smaller stages helps to gather better metrics, which in turn helps us analyze how we can optimize our deployments to ship better.
With all the features we have so far, and the new ones that are coming up in the next few months, we aim to build the next generation of deployment orchestration platform. A platform that is simple to use and yet powerful enough to handle the majority of deployment workflows companies are using today.
